Mission and Vision

MISSION

The School of Business of which Sports Management is an important vertical, advances the reputation and mission of the Sister Nivedita University by 1) Making an impact on research in Sports management, on the teaching of the Subjects associated with Sports management, and the practice of Sports management by creating and sharing new knowledge, 2) Preparing students for a rapidly changing business environment by providing high quality educational programs, and 3) Supporting organizations within India and external constituencies through outreach activities. In fulfilling this mission, the School of Business will follow these principles:

VISION
Our vision is to be one of the top 50 Sports Management business schools in the world by providing an educational and research environment that emphasizes ethical and innovative action to solve our most challenging business problems in the post Covid Sporting environment.

GOALS
To advance and embody SNU”s aspiration to assume its place among the upper echelon of national universities, the Sports Management Department in the School of Business will play a critical role by:

  • Increasing levels of published research and scholarship in Sports Management and building interdisciplinary research teams.
  • Creating and growing the revenue generating potential of research centers and interdisciplinary research programs.
  • Growing and further developing our graduate and Post Graduate programmes in Sports management and expanding their national and international reach.
  • Developing an innovative approach to Sports education via regular curricular changes and the optimal preparation of our students to make significant contributions in the marketplace and to society as a whole.
  • Prioritizing faculty position allocations with a focus on Spots Management where we can excel and become a national power.
  • Strengthening Corporate and alumni fundraising efforts in course of time, to focus on the improvement of our infrastructure and operations, and increasing the participation of our alumni.
  • Developing a centralized and systematic approach to communicate the values, goals, and success stories to both internal and external stakeholders.

 

ACADEMICS
Experiential learning is at the core of our MBA and BBA Sport Management education philosophy. In most of our classes, the theory that applies to each discipline is supplemented by real-world projects providing students the ability to work in teams to solve "real world" challenges.

Students will gain expertise in sport-related disciplines ranging from marketing, law and finance ... to applied sport market research and analytics. Our program also offers a unique Professional Development Seminar in which industry practitioners enlighten students on a broad range of career advice and opportunity.

Q:- What are the programs offered by the department of Sport Management?

Ans:- BBA Sport Management – 3 years
MBA Sport Management – 2 years

Q:- Has SNU collaborated/partnered with any major sporting organisations?

Ans:- SNU has recently signed a major deal with IFA (Indian Football Association) and there will be increasing opportunities for students enrolled in sport management programs. They will be able to work closely with well established clubs and in the process – gain work experience.
The sport management department at SNU is also in touch with a number of other high profile sporting organisations and further announcements will be made soon.
