Prof. Sandip Mukherjee

Director, SNU-IHM

Prof. Sandip Mukherjee is a distinguished hotelier of over four decades of international managerial experience and academically proficient having a focus on creating hospitality professionals of the future. Excellences in operations, eye for details, technical and administrative qualities are the hallmarks that are upheld by him at all times. His work has taken him across various nations that include the UK, US, South East Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia), Central Pacific and routine hospitality related travels to Australia, Africa and China. An avid reader, dedicated hospitality manager and certified trainer, he has served royalties of the world managing the prestigious Hyderabad House at New Delhi, been GM for hotels across various continents, put in work at the Taj Group of hotels as director of operations (palaces and luxury hotels), been a faculty of the top most hospitality school of India – the Taj managed- IHM at Aurangabad.

Prof. (Dr.) Santanu Dasgupta

In-charge, SNU-IHM

Dr.Santanu Dasgupta has a rich experience of 20 years in the hospitality industry and education. He has completed PhD in Management from Amity University, Rajasthan, M.Sc. in Hotel Management from Annamalai University and 3 years Diploma in Hotel Management form IHMCTAN, Bhubaneswar. His strength lies in accommodation operation, academic research and student counselling. He is a passionate teacher and a trainer.

Chef Mohammad Irfan

Assistant Professor, SNU-IHM

Chef Irfan possess about 12 years of industrial and academic experience in the field of hospitality both in training and administration, holding Master’s degree in Hotel Management from Annamalai University and Diploma in Hotel Management and Catering Technology from State Council of Technical Education. Chef Irfan has trained many budding chefs who have been working successfully in reputed hotels. He has worked as a distinguished chef in Park Hotel & RKHS and started his career in education with Golden Regency Institute of Hotel Management. He was also the HOD- Food Production in Sarda College of Hotel Management, worked as an Assistant Professor with Siliguri Institute of Technology and moved to Kolkata joining Future Institute of Engineering and Management as an Assistant Professor – in charge of Food Production department. He is currently our Chef-in-Charge as HOD-Food Production at the school of Hospitality.

Prof. Rahul Chowdhury

Assistant Professor, SNU-IHM

An alumnus from IHM Bhubaneswar with specialization in Food & Beverage Service Prof. Chowdhury has earned many accolades. The topper of college for 3 consecutive years he was also conferred the “Best Student of the Academic Year Award” from NCHMCT “Govt. of India” for securing the first position all over India. He holds an MBA degree in “Tourism Management” from a prestigious university & was placed in the 1st Division.

His operational experiences range from working with leading hotel chains: The Taj, Fairmont, Park, luxury liners, among others. His academic experiences include working as the HOD- Food and Beverage at School of Hospitality and Culinary Art, The Neotia University. Presently, he is heading Food and Beverage as the HOD at our university.

Ms. Sayantani Sarkar

Assistant Professor, SNU-IHM

Ms. Sayantani Sarkar has completed her graduation and post-graduation from the prestigious Institute of Hotel Management Catering and Nutrition, Pusa, New Delhi. She started her career as a Management Trainee with The Lalit Group of hotels and later switched to IL&FS Skills, where she has handled various skill development projects by GOI and has successfully trained more than hundred trainees in core areas of hospitality. She has worked in The Trident-Oberoi, Gurgaon and Sheraton, New Delhi. Her areas of expertise extend to ‘Soft Skills’ and ‘Communicative English’ training along with her interest in rooms division. She is a Certified Foundation Level Skill Trainer by AHLEI and has also been a Core member of College Campus Impact Group. At SNU she is responsible for conducting sessions in Rooms division (Front Office and Housekeeping), Tourism Principles & Products and Nutrition & Hygiene.

Prof. Upanita Dey Jamwal

Assistant Professor, SNU-IHM

Prof. Upanita Dey Jamwal is an accomplished, seasoned professional with proven success in operations management. She is a trained safety professional and a first aider. She has undergone Fire Fighting Prevention and Fire Fighting Training under civil aviation safety norms by DGCA, India. She possesses superior communication skills and has experience in Aviation in Inflight Department, Hospital and Hotels. She understands and has conducted Quality and Safety checks for Flight Safety, First Aid, Customer Service Standards and completed DGR course from BCAS, New Delhi and formulated and prepared Grooming Manual for Spicejet Limited. She handled Training Modules for Customer Service for Front Office Department in Hyatt Hotels. She has completed her graduation in Commerce from prestigious Calcutta University and Masters from Symbiosis, Pune. She delivers the following modules at SNU- IHM: Hospitality Marketing, Environmental Sciences and Personality Development among others.
