Prof. Jayanta Ghosh, A notable Hospitality professional, started a hospitality career in 1999. An IHM kolkata alumnus worked in various five star organizations in India. He worked with several reputed organizations and Hospitality management colleges in India. Prof. Ghosh worked with Master Chef Kunal Kapur, master chef Vikas Khanna, Master chef Sanjeev Kapoor, Dr. Chef Damodharan in organizing different food festivals, top notched chef competitions, workshops and seminars. Organizer of different International level events like International students chef competition, International Mocktail competition, international Fruit and ice carving competitions, International cake Icing competitions in India with the 50+ countries participations. Prof. Ghosh has an experience of looking after International Internship and placement for over 17 years successfully and till now placed over 2000 students worldwide including USA, Singapore, Dubai, Malaysia, France, Germany, Australia, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Mauritius, Bahrain, Thailand, Cayman Island, Malta, Canada, Oman to name a few.


Head of Department


Dr. Santanu Dasgupta has a rich experience of 20 years in the hospitality industry and education. He is an alumnus of IHM Bhubaneswar with a doctoral degree in Management from Amity University Rajasthan. He has worked with leading hospitality groups like The Oberoi, Taj Group of Hotels and Vilamendhoo Island Resort, Maldives. He has served as Head of department at Siliguri Institute of Technology and in various senior capacities in institutions like, NSHM Knowledge Campus, Kohinoor IMI, The Neotia University and NIPS School of Hotel Management. He has been preopening team member for hospitality institutions and has undertaken projects for hotels. His strength lies in accommodation operation, research studies and student counseling. He has published his research papers in various journals of repute. He is a passionate teacher and trainer.

Assistant Professor


An alumnus from IHM Bhubaneswar with specialization in Food & Beverage Service Rahul has earned many accolades. The topper of college for 3 consecutive years he was also conferred the “Best Student of the Academic Year Award” from NCHMCT “Govt. of India” for securing the first position all over India. He holds an MBA degree in “Tourism Management” from a prestigious University & was placed in the 1st Division. His operational experiences range from working with leading hotel chains: The Taj, Fairmont, Park, luxury liners- among others. His academic experiences include working as the HOD- Food and Beverage at School of Hospitality and Culinary Art, The Neotia University. Presently, he is heading Food and Beverage as the HOD at our University.


Assistant Professor


Accomplished, seasoned professional with proven success in operations management. She is a trained Safety professional and a First Aider. She has undergone firefighting Prevention and firefighting Training under Civil aviation safety norms by DGCA – India. She possesses superior communication skills and has experience in Aviation in Inflight Department, Hospital and Hotels. She understands and has conducted Quality and Safety checks for Flight Safety, First Aid, Customer Service Standards and completed DGR course from BCAS – NEW DELHI and formulated and prepared Grooming Manual for Spicejet Limited. She handled Training Modules for Customer Service for Front Office Department in Hyatt Hotels. Mrs. Upanita Dey Jamwal has completed her graduation in Commerce from prestigious Calcutta University and completed her Masters from Symbiosis Pune.
She now delivers the following modules at SNU- IHM: Hospitality Marketing, Environmental Sciences and Personality Development among others.

Prof. Achintya Barman

Assistant Professor

Chef Achintya Barman is a Culinary maestro who has harmonized his passion and flair for cooking with teaching and training, joined as an Asst. Professor in Hospitality & Tourism Management. Has rich experience of 16 years in academics and around 7 years in the Hospitality Industry. Started Career in 1999. An IHM Kolkata alumnus. Holds M.Sc. Hotel Management degree. Worked in several reputed organizations and Hospitality Management Colleges. Organized various Food Festivals and invited as a Judge in many Chef Competitions hosted by Tata Chemicals Haldia, Haldia Refinery Employees Club (IOC), Bhavan’s NSCBV, Haldia. His life revolves around food and travel. He has been also invited to make appearances on television programmes and has assisted in facilitating sessions on course benefit & future prospects in the Hospitality Sector. In the strong belief that “to teach is to learn” he enjoys sharing his knowledge and skills with aspiring chefs.




Prof. Susovan Kundu is an ingenious and a very promising professor of French language who is known for his wit, erudition and his command over teaching skills. He has a cultivated experience of over 30 years in the department of French language. He's an alumnus of Calcutta University with a Master's degree in French. He has contributed his responsibility as a teacher to many leading universities and colleges in the state of West Bengal. He has worked as a French Faculty in the departments of Hospitality and Tourism management, BBA, MBA, Engineering. He is passionate about teaching and he works towards the betterment of the young minds that is yet to be molded to bring out the future leaders in them.
