Dr. Sreyashi Mukherjee
Dr. Sreyashi Mukherjee earned her PhD in Communication, Culture, and Media from Drexel University in 2022. Her research is interdisciplinary with a global approach to cultural and media studies. Her dissertation analysed representations of feminine agency and commodification in Indian advertising since Independence. She has published on the digital mediations of identity in TV shows and social media networks and continues to develop research with a glocal approach to identity in the Global South. As teaching facilitates the development of a future workforce, Dr. Mukherjee develops curricula and instructs professionalization coursework in higher education and industry. Her para-academic experiences as a print journalist and fundraising in the social sector, influences her research as well as her pedagogy highlighting criticality and the transferability of communication skills.
